The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a global leader in international education - providing an academically rigorous, fully-orbed education for nearly 2 million students in 160 countries. IB programs empower principled, reflective students with enhanced communication, collaboration and research skills.
Munro Academy is an authorized IB World School. IB World Schools share a common philosophy - a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education- that we believe is important for our students. Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme (DP), or the Career-related Programme (CP). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted. For further information about the IB and its programmes visit www.ibo.org.
Students in Grade 9 and Grade 10 may enrol in Pre-IB streams of Math 9, Math 10, English 9 and English 10. Munro's Pre-IB programming further prepares students to excel in Munro's IB CP program. Munro Pre-IB students complete enriched content and gain further exposure to IB learning practices. Munro Academy's foundational commitments to international mindedness and transformative education provide a world class spring-board into Munro's innovative IB CP program.
Munro’s IB Career-related Program (CP) integrates IB’s renowned academic content with transformative workplace internship experiences. Grade 11 and 12 IB students complete a full spectrum of Munro Academy courses along with IB Diploma Program (DP) Mathematics and Biology courses. "In the 2 years I’ve been studying the CP it has sparked a hunger for learning in me, always looking for new information and experiences. I simply would not have grown at the same rate studying another course. I definitely feel each element of the CP has given me confidence in important, complex choices I need to make, like where or when to study in the future.”
