About Summer Adventure ESL Camp
If you want to improve your English, have great outdoor adventures, experience the island’s unique living cultures and make new friends - HELLO CAPE BRETON Summer Adventure Camp may be the ideal place for you! Each day is a perfect blend of rigorous English acquisition with qualified ESL teachers - fun team building activities and amazing, relaxing outdoor adventures! We utilize the well-respected Cambridge Interchange curriculum and other exciting resources during ESL sessions. Students are in small cohorts based on an initial English assessment.
Some of the activities that we will bring back to our 2024 camp include whale-watching, hiking, swimming, camping, kayaking, and visits to local tourist attractions, including a trip around the beautiful and world-famous Cabot Trail. Local students may be joining-in for some of these adventures. New friendships will form as students share these exciting adventures!
General Schedule
- Mornings
Making learning FUN! In the mornings there will be ESL classes at Munro Academy. Qualified instructors will teach students at their appropriate levels using Cambridge Interchange curriculum and/or other quality resources. Games and interaction - hands-on learning and daily team building activities
- Afternoons
Afternoon activities include going to the beach, kayaking, hiking, or a variety of other fun outdoor adventures.
- Evenings and Weekends
Students are free to join their homestay family in a variety of activities or outings. There are near-by shopping centers, a movie theatre, live theatres, restaurants, parks, an animal park, marine activities, and so much more!
MA Homestays
Enjoy being “one of the family” with Cape Bretoners’ famous hospitality! Homestay families will provide visiting students with their own bedroom, 3 meals a day, and transportation to and from Munro Academy. Students will also be welcome to join in host family adventures and outings, particularly on weekends.
