We know choosing a private school is a major decision and we want you to know we are here to help you in your decision making process. We encourage you to make an appointment with our staff for you and your child to view our school and to answer any questions you may have.
The curriculum and variety of extra curricular activities at Munro Academy not only help to prepare your child for their post secondary education but also encourages them to learn life skills that will help them succeed in different areas of their life.
Students attending Munro Academy develop close friendships with their classmates, who not only help them in day to day experiences while at Munro Academy, but even after graduation as these bonds of friendship remain well after students have left our school.
Student applications are accepted at any time throughout the school year, however, placement is dependent on class enrolment. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
You don't have to wait for the beginning of a new school year to apply to Munro Academy. Students are welcome to register at anytime during the year. Feel free to contact the School Office by phone: Elementary School (902) 270-7771, Middle/High School (902) 241-5090, or by email (info@munroacademy.org) if you have any questions, or if you would like to arrange an appointment to come in to see our school.
Munro Academy admits students of any race, colour, national, and ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs and activities generally made available to the students of the school. Students from any faith background, or none, are invited to consider our great school. While Munro Academy may be able to effectively address minimal educational challenges, we are not able to deal with special education at either extreme of the spectrum. Decisions are made upon consideration of individual cases based on the guiding principle of seeking the best schooling alternative for the student in question.
Providing an innovative, quality Christian program of education is costly. By way of comparison, Nova Scotia public schools currently receive over $14,000 per year, per student, to cover costs. At current tuition levels, tuition revenues cover about 60% of costs, with generous personal donations covering the remaining gap. Munro Academy seeks to maintain a tuition structure allowing for intentional Christian education to be accessible for as many Cape Breton families as possible.
NOTE: Munro Academy considers that any student coming to us on a study permit and carrying a foreign passport as an international student and will be subject to international student tuition fees. Furthermore, any student coming as part of our International Family Program, whose parents are on any temporary permit - visitor, study, work - will be subject to international student tuition fees. (See International Admissions.) Students with Canadian citizenship or Permanent Residency are eligible for local tuition levels.
Registration fee is an annual fee and it is non-refundable
In the case of activities involving substantial additional expense, such as an international mission trips, Munro Academy is required to present families with the projected costs before families commit to having their students participate.
International Baccalaureate (IB) Fees
are in addition to regular tuition fees and can be found on the IB page.
